Only the thin inner layer of the bark of the cinnamon tree cinnamomum verum zeylanicum is used for extraction. Ceylon cinnamon powder and extract blend naturally contains the phytonutrient MHCP (methylhydroxy chalcone polymer) from the polyphenol group.
