Multifruit Tarragon Herb
The Romans put it on snakebite wounds. In the Middle Ages tarragon was called Tragonia or Tarchon which is probably of Arabic origin. The origin of the Arabic name probably comes from the Greek Drakos (snake). Apparently the plant was associated with the name dragon because of the shape of its root, and there was a widespread belief that tarragon not only warded off snakes and dragons, but also cured their bites.
