The mountain tea plant (genus Sideritis – Sideritis) is widely used in Mediterranean countries, including Greece, as a decoction (tea). It has a characteristic taste that strongly resembles lemon and citrus. It is one of the most recognizable and beloved herbs of our country internationally. As a decoction: Place a kettle with water in the stove and just before boiling, remove from the heat. Pour in the mountain tea, leave it for 3-4 minutes, strain it and drink it. It is equally enjoyable and cold to drink.
