Castor oil, resin oil, castor oil or castor oil is a type of vegetable oil produced from the tropical plant Ricinus communis. It is thicker than other oils, such as argan oil or coconut oil. As evidenced by its concentrated composition, it is also much richer in vitamin E and fatty acids than most vegetable oils, which makes it a very effective product for skin and hair. But the story does not end there. Its miraculous properties are said to have been used since the time of ancient Egypt, when oil was considered by many as an elixir that strengthens the immune system. In fact, it is still a mainstay of Ayurvedic medicine.
