Castor oil, resin oil, castor oil or castor oil is a type of vegetable oil produced from the tropical plant Ricinus communis. It is thicker than other oils, such as argan oil or coconut oil. As evidenced by its concentrated composition, it is also much richer in vitamin E and fatty acids than most vegetable oils, which makes it a very effective product for skin and hair. But the story does not end there. Its miraculous properties are said to have been used since the time of ancient Egypt, when oil was considered by many as an elixir that strengthens the immune system. In fact, it is still a mainstay of Ayurvedic medicine.

INDICATIVE WAYS OF USE

  • For skin problems – If you have acne, dry skin, chronic itching, sunburn or even stretch marks, soak a cotton ball in castor oil and apply it to the problem area in the morning and evening. If the area is small (for example an infected pimple) put castor oil on a wound and cover the spot.
  • For arthritis pain – Make casts with castor oil and bandage the sore spots, for one hour, daily.
